WHAT ARE WE ABOUT?

As a result of the volunatry community work, following the severe weather and flooding in January 2016, AB41 Flood Response was formed to help those affected. As Ellon transitions to " normality", ECRG has been formed as of May 2016 with a specific Aim as set out below.

Aim

Harness, be prepared for, and if necessary mobilise that same community spirit in the event of a serious emergency affecting the town in the future.

Priority One

Develop a Community Resilience Plan.

Priority Two

Specifically related to flood, engage with e.g. Aberdeenshire Council, SEPA, Scottish Water, etc. on definition/implementation of near term and long term flood prevention measures.

Our scope

Is not limited to potentially vulnerable flood areas Any part of the town can be affected by the impact of e.g.

  • Severe weather;
  • Floods;
  • Extended loss of utilities;
  • Major Fires;
  • Major incidents involving transport.

We aim to be prepared to proactively respond to the needs of those affected in support of the First Responders.
